Happy Meals may not be so happy when your children order French Fries...especially if they're getting a mouthful of potato pesticides. In a historic move, McDonald's will take steps to reduce pesticide use in its potato supplies. As the largest buyer of potatoes in the U.S., McDonald's will survey its suppliers, create a list of best practices in pesticide reduction, and make recommendations to suppliers around the world.
This unprecedented action comes in the wake of pressure from large corporate shareholders and environmental groups, including the AFL-CIO, the Bard College Endowment and Newground Social Investment.
