Memphis based Federal Express has shipped pink slips to 1,000 workers, including 500 in Tennessee.  All are white collar employees.  The company is taking extraordinary measures to stay profitable, starting with $1 billion in budget cuts, and pay cuts for 14,000 workers in Memphis.
