The Texas billionaire charged in an $8 billion ponzi scheme claims he's innocent. R. Allen Stanford tells CNBC TV he has "never done anything to swindle or defraud anyone." Stanford Financial was based in Memphis, and owned 80% of ForeFront Holdings in Brentwood. The Securities and Exchange commission claims Stanford Financial was lying to investors and selling high yield Certificates of Deposit based in Atigua that were too good to be true. Stanford is asking a federal judge to lift the freeze on his assets, so he can pay $10 million for his legal defense.
