The Marriott Marquis has become the signature hotel of New York City's Times Square and midtown Manhattan.
There is only one other Marquis hotel in the world, with a third underway. Soon there will be a fourth - in Nashville. The Business Journal reports the 40-story hotel will have 1,000 rooms and a 40,000 square foot grand ballroom.
The Tennessean pegs the tab for the flagship hotel at $300 million. The paper also says Metro Housing hasn't quite figured out how to pay for it.
