As you can see in the story above, Southwest Airlines has been under investigation by the FAA over plane parts that inspectors allege pose a safety hazard. The parts in question are exhaust brackets on 50 older 737s that the FAA contends pose potential hazards. The FAA says there is no immediate safety danger.
The Washington Post reports that Southwest has been given until December 24th to fix the problem, with tough safety compliance procedures in effect while the fixes are underway.
