Someone stole a freight container full of 700 Singer sewing machines worth more the $400,000 over the weekend.  Metro police and the FBI say thieves broke into the lot at Commercial Cartage, and this isn't the first time.  In March, someone stole a freight truck filled with Jack Daniels Whiskey from the same lot on Lebanon Pike Circle.
Detectives don't know if there's a link between the sewing machines and the whiskey, but they need a tip to sew up this case.  So call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME if you see new sewing machines being sold on the street.
