You'd better watch out next time you're racing to school or work. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is using mobile cameras to keep roads safe. Four patrol cars are equipped with three different cameras to read license plate numbers and send information directly to the trooper's computer. The agency started using this system to immediately catch tags that may be stolen or lost or linked to wanted persons, Amber Alerts or suspected terrorists. Trooper Shawn Boyd is currently the only officer in Middle Tennessee to have the mounted camera system. The U.S. Attorney's office supplied funds to adopt four systems, as News 2 reports.
