Nissan North America is exploring new avenues in a troubled car industry. The carmaker based in Franklin is developing plans to make a line of commercial vans and other vehicles. They'll be assembled in Canton, Mississippi and will go on sale in late 2010, according to the Tennessean.
Nissan's all electric car, the Leaf, also goes on sale in Tennessee late next year. The Leaf will be made in Japan until 2012, when the Smyrna assembly line should be ready to roll. Watch the video box to learn more about The Leaf and how it works.
