One of Nashvlle's original Outlaws turns 77 today, and we wish him well.

The author of Night Life, Funny How Time Slips Away, Hello Walls, Pretty Paper and Crazy, he could not impress Nashvlle producers with his singing voice.

In the 60s, he moved to RCA Victor Records and producer Chet Atkins did a number of middlin' hits with him.

In 1978, Nelson produced two platinum albums: Waylon and Willie and Stardust, which demonstrated the range of Nelson's musical interests.

Just announced, Nelson and his son will be performing at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center.
