This has to do with Twitter, and if we need to tell you what that is, you may find this helpful.
There is this Twitter page called called Sµit My Dad Says
The Tweep currently has over 1.35 million followers, and had spun off a book. This fall, it will be a TV series on CBS staring William Shatner.
This editor appeals for your forgiveness for what you're about to read: There seem to be organizations, the sole purpose of which is to be offended. When CBS announced the new series (Bleep) My Dad Says (what CBS is calling it), the predictable response came from the predictable source: The Parents Television Council (PTC). The PTC is an offshoot, now somewhat unhinged, from L. Brent Bozell's Media Research Center which also seems to have being offended as its main occupation.
The PTC has threatened (one supposes it has already started counting to three) to challenge the license of NewsChannel5 and every other CBS affiliate if they dare to run this program because, as the president of the organization says "we couldn't imagine that a network would actually name a program either with an expletive or with the expletive ostensibly bleeped out."
It could take the entire staff of Crane, Poole & Schmidt to sort out this one.
And PTC would probably be offended by that as well.
And now, if you're not suitably offended by this point, you may watch the preview of the program from the privacy of your home.
