The pressure is growing to get rid of the leaking, roach-infested, run down high school in Lebanon and build a new one.  But will the taxpayers pony up? Wilson County is going through hard times. The thought of even a modest tax increase is not welcome in homes where it's hard to pay the mortgage every month.
With that backdrop, the Wilson County Commission is expected to vote on a wheel tax tonight.  As the Lebanon Democrat reports, a $25 fee would go into effect next year, to pay for a new Lebanon High School.  It would bring the total wheel tax to $50.  The new tax will not be an easy sell.  It must pass by a 2-thirds majority at consecutive commission meetings.
