Health Care is in a state of crisis in Tennessee. Families USA estimates that 800 people are losing health care coverage every week across the state. Local advocates believe the new Health Care Reform bill could help 350,000 Tennesseans get coverage under Medicaid. NewsChannel 5 talks to Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Murfreesboro), who plans to vote for the Obama reform bill in committee.
But other Tennessee congressmen oppose the plan, including Blue Dog Democrat Jim Cooper and John Tanner. In The New York Times, Bredesen calls the Obama plan "the mother of all unfunded mandates."
