The TVA is getting slapped around a bit by its own inspector general. A report issued this week about the massive December 2008 coal ash spill at the TVA's Kingston, Tennessee plant accuses Tennessee Valley Authority managers of improperly steering an outside investigation of that spill.
The Tennessean reports the TVA's action stemmed from a fear of liability lawsuits that might stem from the coal ash spill, because of indications that TVA managers knew there were problems that could lead to spills, and they were ignored for years.
