Metro Council once again voted to opt out of the state's guns-in-parks law, and it now seems a sure bet that Nashville will, indeed, uphold its own decades-long ban on allowing handguns in city park facilities.
So far that ban has worked pretty well for the city and its citizens. But that didn't stop opponents from claiming law-breakers would suddenly get the upper hand. The Tennessean provides more on the debate here. The opt-out proposal needs a third reading and approval before becoming law.
