Don't mention this story to your children! President Obama first mentioned an idea six months ago concerning how long students are spending time in the classroom. The Senate Education Committee is in talks about lengthening school days to have students spend longer at school and less time at extra-curricular activities. Various districts have the option of tacking on additional time to allow for weather closings and longer holidays.
