Bill Frist (R-TN) likes being out of the national spotlight. The former Senate Majority Leader was noted for strong appeals on behalf of the healthcare community during his two terms. Now, Frist is focusing on healthcare from the private sector and has decided not to run for political office again. The Nashville resident is currently promoting his new book A Heart to Serve. In the book, Frist tackles controversial issues met during his career in the U.S. Senate. A blog on Tennessean.com describes an interview where he says, “I have no plans and will not run for elective office, in all likelihood. I made the decision not to run for governor this time around, and don’t plan on running for governor in the future and don’t plan on running for the presidency.”
