A class action lawsuit against the makers of Hydroxycut has been filed in Tennesee. It's believed to be the first U.S. lawsuit since the weight-loss supplement was recalled on May 1st. According to consumeraffairs.com, the Food and Drug Adminitration has 23 complaints of liver damage, and has been linked to heart failure, seizures, and a condition that breaks down muscle tissue. The Tennessee complaints include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headaches, and extreme fatigue. A similar class action suit was filed in Canada earlier in May.
Hydroxycut is extremely popular, accounting for 90% of weight-loss supplement sales. It is made by Iovate Health Sciences.
