Nashville has a disturbing infant mortality rate.  93 babies died before their first birthday in 2006, and that was the second highest number in the nation that year. To fight this problem the Metro Health Department is getting a $3.7 million federal grant.  The program will bring together multiple agencies and universities. And there are plans to recruit nursing students from at-risk neighborhoods.
