The first medicine ever developed specifically to treat cancer in dogs has won approval from the Food and Drug Administration.  Until now, veterinarians relied on human cancer drugs without knowing if they were safe or effective for dogs.  Health Day reports the new drug is called Palladia. It's made by Pfizer's Animal Heath Division, and treats cutaneous mast cell tumors, a serious form of skin cancer in dogs.
