At a time when millions of people are unemployed and need help paying their medical bills, health care fraud is a major problem in Middle Tennessee. Two Nashville women admit they stole more than $1 million from Medicare and TennCare. The Tennessean reports Glenesha Bowling-Moye and Tabitha Jones pleaded guilty to a health care fraud scheme. They ran EBC Healthcare, a bogus company that billed for psychotherapy and other services, and then laundered the money.
Just last month, the U.S. Attorney accused Nashville philanthropist Jim Carell of defrauding Medicare of $6.3 million.
