Chattanooga-based Krystal Company has staked out bragging right for being the first fast-food chain to develop its own high-energy drink.
The Krystal Blitz created such a strong buzz (ahem) in the company, it rushed the drink to market without doing any marketing tests. according to the Times-Free Press.
The "Lemon Berry" Blitz can be ordered with ice or frozen.
Great. Brain freeze with a mega-shot of caffeine. Are these things really good for you? Some health expert worry about the possible immediate side effects and long-term risks of high-energy drinks, which are hugely popular with athletes.
The worries compound when these drinks are used to excess. The high amounts of caffeine and ginseng, among other legal stimulants can cause the heart rate to jump.
And the caloric intake can be much higher than even a regular soft drink or a candy bar. What's the use of all that energy if you're just plain.....fat?
Krystal-how about a fat-free basket of burgers and fries? To go?
