American Idol and country star Carrie Underwood is engaged to Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher. He popped the question over the weekend in Ottawa, where he plays for the Ottawa Senators.  No date is set yet, but Fisher told US Magazine, "We're both obviously excited and very happy and so, exciting times for sure."

The liner notes from Carrie's newest CD gave astute observers a pretty big hint about their hush-hush romance:

"Thank you #12," she wrote, referring to his jersey number. "You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day... xoxo, Carrie."
