American Idol winner David Cook lost his older brother Adam to brain cancer early Sunday morning.  Despite his obvious grief, David Cook appeared at a brain cancer benefit hours later.  He made the announcement at the Annual Race for Hope event in Washington, DC.  His team raised more than $97,000 for brain cancer research.  USmagazine.com was first to confirm the death, and says Adam sat in the audience of American Idol last year to watch David perform.
