More than 30 years after Elvis left us (or went into hiding, depending on your level of fandom), he continues to make his presence known. His latest incarnation is as an iPhone app.
And what is an "app"? In software engineering, a web application or webapp is an application that is accessed via web browser over a network such as the Internet or an intranet. It is also a computer software application that is coded in a browser-supported language (such as HTML, JavaScript, Java, etc.) and reliant on a common web browser to render the application executable.
In English, it's a fun feature on iPhones and other hi-tech equipment. The Elvis app includes videos like this, podcasts and a live camera from Graceland.
The people who represent Elvis' estate swear he would have been among the first to get an iPhone because he loved new technology. Who knows? Somewhere he might have one and be using it right now.
And lest there be some doubt about Elvis' impact on the new technology consider this: when we last checked, there were over 100 different FACEBOOK pages devoted to Elvis Presley. "You were always on my mind." No doubt.
