"One thing I'm not gonna do is chase staying alive. You spend so much time chasing staying alive, you won't live"
Patrick Swayze said those words last January when asked about the pancreatic cancer he knew was taking his life. So he elected to live as normally as possible. He took on a starring role in a tv series. He worked on a memoir with his wife. He stopped taking painkillers because he figured they would impair his acting on the show.
When first diagnosed he was given only weeks to live. He figured he had two years. Patrick Swayze died Monday. He was 57.
