Franklin's rich history is commonly known as the center for one of the bloodiest battles during the Civil War. Historians and archaeologists were surveying a sand trap on the site of Franklin's country club when unusual items were found buried. An expert believes a six-pound canon ball could point towards 1862 because of its unusual size. City officals are interested in perserving historical artifacts to better inform the community of the vast historical background of Franklin. Channel 4 reports on the discovery.
