Bowling Green's Aviation Heritage Park dedicated a restored Korean War-era fighter on Thursday. The craft, a Grumman-made F9F Panther was part of the Blue Angels team when it flew and one of its pilots was Johnny Magda, a native Kentuckian and WKU graduate who was shot down over Korea in 1951. The plane was restored in Magda's honor.

The celebration continues tomorrow at the park.

The Bowling Green Daily News tells all about it, including interviews with the late pilot's family.

Now, if you're wondering why the clip at the top of this story was selected, you may not know that Corvettes are assembled in Bowling Green, also home to the National Corvette Museum.
