Evidently Dan Allen is a better digger than we are. The archeologist recently dug up what he claims is the grave of Charles Dickinson. It could have been Old Dickinson Boulevard. The Hermitage might still be a wide open space (or another mall). All of those statues would never have been commissioned. The Cherokee Nation might still be living not too far from here. The battle of New Orleans might never have been fought - but since it happened AFTER the War of 1812 was over it wouldn't have mattered, except that Johnny Horton would have had one less hit record.
