Among us city-slickers, understandably some folks might ask "which exit ramp was it to that place that has the pesto pasta?"

Ah, but it gets better than that: Ramps, sometimes called wild leeks, are wild onions native to North America.  Fortunately, they volunteer themselves in Spring and can be found throughout the South.  In fact, today is the last day of the Polk County Ramp Tramp Festival and the Cosby Tennessee Ramp Festival starts May 3. Saturday, May 8th is the 25th Annual Ramp Festival in of Unicoi County Tennessee.

So if you find them while you're weeding your garden, Marc Matsumoto has a way to use them in your kitchen.
