After enduring an embarrassing series sweep at home to in-state SEC rival Tennessee in their regular-season finale, the 'cardiac' Commodores answered their detractors with a vengeance yet again by downing a top-ranked team. In the SEC Tournament opening round in Hoover, Ala., No. 8-seeded Vanderbilt stunned No. 1-seeded LSU (ranked No. 2 nationally) 4-1 Wednesday night as 'Dore ace Mikie Minor suffocated Tiger hitters to the tune of one run and six total hits over nine full innings. While the proud Tigers (41-16) limp into the Loser's Bracket today, Vanderbilt (32-24) heads into the Winner's Bracket tonight at 8:30 p.m. CT to face No. 5 South Carolina.
