After underdog Vanderbilt mercy-ruled Arkansas 11-1 in the SEC Baseball Tournament semifinals Saturday, their Cinderella story closed another chapter as the Commodores fell 6-2 to the top-seeded LSU Tigers in the championship game (Vandy skipper Tim Corbin's fourth SEC Championship appearance in the last six seasons). But good news came shortly on the heels of their inspiring effort this past weekend as Corbin's squad was awarded the No. 3 seed in the Louisville regional of the NCAA Tournament. While the 'Dores have an unusually short bus journey ahead of them, they will face cross-town rival and No. 2 seed MTSU Friday at 3 p.m. in UL's Patterson Stadium. Vandy ace Mikie Minor will take the mound against the Blue Raiders, who split two mid-week games with the Commodores earlier this season.
