After shutting out inter-city rival and No. 2 seed MTSU 6-0 in the regional semifinals, No. 3 Vanderbilt appeared ready to clinch its second-ever 'super regional' under skipper Tim Corbin's watch this past weekend as the 'Dores beat No. 1 host Louisville 8-4 at Patterson Stadium to force a single-elimination championship game on Monday. Alas, it was not to be as Vandy settled for runner-up status in another tournament and the Cards advanced to face Cal State-Fullerton in a showdown for a spot in Omaha. As the program momentarily ponders the 'what-if's, several Commodores are preparing themselves for the Major League Baseball Draft and lives beyond West End.
