In what Sports Illustrated's Peter King said was the most intense preseason game he's watched in a quarter century, the boos rained down like a monsoon Sunday night at Mile High Stadium when Denver's Benedict Arnold, ex-Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler, returned for a preseason game against his former team as a member of the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately for the Broncos and new coach Josh McDaniels, Cutler got the last laugh this time around, going 15-for-21 passing for 144 yards and one touchdown and generally playing brilliantly, including a couple connections with Commodore teammate Earl Bennett. Meanwhile, both of Denver's top two QBs, ex-Bear Kyle Orton and ex-Titan Chris Simms, are out with injuries, and Around the Horn (ESPN) commentator Woody Paige wonders if former MBA QB Ingle Martin will start the season opener for the Broncos.
