The National Shooting Sports Foundation which is an industry group organized and funded by manufacturers, distributors, retailers and sportsmen's organizations has published a study that reports that since the inception of Earth Day, hunters and fishermen have contributed over $20 billion in taxes and fees used to buy and maintain National Wildlife Refuges, along with state programs for the same purpose.
