After years of  hand wringing and debate Nashville Mayor Karl Dean has decided to shutdown the 100 year old Tennessee State Fair and racetrack owned by the city.  Feelings are mixed among metro council members but there seems to be agreement that better use can be made of the fairgrounds location.  The Tennessean has the story with links to what lead to the mayor's decision.
