Thanksgiving brought special meaning this year to Fort Campbell families. The 159th Combat Aviation Brigade returned from a year in Afghanistan. A small crowd waited several hours with flags and signs to welcome their soldiers home. The Leaf Chronicle reports the soldiers and their families were thankful for the brigade's safety during their deployment.
According to News 2, another group of soldiers from the brigade was expected to return late Thursday night, and even more over the weekend. Fort Campbell expects about 700 troops to be home by the end of the week.
