The streets of Nashville have been quiet on New Year's Eve for the last couple of years. But the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is throwing a party with live music and fireworks to welcome in 2010, predicting that 10,000 people will show up. The Hard Rock Cafe on lower Broadway is the main sponsor, and the Convention Bureau is shedding six figures to make this event a version of New York's Times Square. Last year's street party and the big Trace Adkins concert were cancelled due to the rough economy of 2008, as the Tennessean reports.
