Mayor Karl Dean presented the official financing plan for the proposed Music City Center to the Metro Council Thursday night. The $585 million building would replace the current convention center and be located south of the Nashville Arena (formerly Sommet Center). According to News 2, the mayor is confident the center will pay for itself and will not burden the Nashville community.
If the new convention center is approved, the proposed medical trade mart would land at the site of the old convention center.
