Nashville's Gaylord Opryland Resort hosted the First Annual Tea Party Convention in February, but when the First Annual Fiscal Conservative PAC conference requested to hold its convention there, Opryland turned it down.
Bill Hemrick, who made news last weekend by suing one of the organizers of National Tea Party Convention, is organizing the May conference. He said his organizers toured through the Conference Center facilities for four hours before being told the news.
Hemrick said Gaylord had decided not to rent to Tea Party groups any more, because the first one wasn't profitable for them.
Hemrick now says his upcoming conference featuring Ann Coulter will be scaled down from an expected crowd of several thousand to just 700 people, at the smaller Sheraton in Nashville.
